Pipe Tobacco

Pipe tobaccos for smoking in pipes are quite often treated and blended to achieve different flavour nuances unavailable otherwise. Many of these are custom pipe tobaccob blends using basic ingredients of cured Virginia pipe tobacco blends which are made better by a variety of spice tobaccos, among them many Oriental or Balkan varieties, Latakia (a heated-cured spice pipe tobacco of Cypriot or Syrian), Perique or blends of Virginia and Burley pipe tobacco blends of African, Jamacan, Chinese Indian, or North American origins. Many U.S. blends are made of American Burley with flavorings and sweeteners to create a unique aromatic flavor, but “English” pipe tobacco blends are based on some Virginia pipe tobaccos made better with Asian and other regular pipe tobaccos. There is a growing desire for ”natural” pipe tobaccos which get their aromas from careful blending with different spice pipe tobaccos alone and gingerly, often a learned curing process.
The bowls of tobacco pipes are commonly made of briar pripe and meerschaum pipe. Mostly a densly grained natural wood is wanted. Most minerals like soapstone and catlinite have sometimes been used. Pipe tobacco bowls are mostly carved with a lot deal of design.
A pipe for pipe tobacco smoking frequently has a little chamber for the combustion of the pipe tobacco to be smoked and a narrow stem that ends in a lippiece. Pipes can range from the non complicated machine-made briar pipe to handmade and decorative details created by well known pipemakers which often cost allot and are collectedor’s items.
